It depends on how much money I have. Since I'm not a student and have a good-paying job, I'll often go ahead and order something else - books, hairbrush, that kind of thing.

Around this time of year my friends and I often get together and place a joint order to combine shipping. Last year four of us went in on it, and we spent almost $1000 collectively and just divided up the shipping. This year, one of my friends is going to the store, and we're just giving her our orders and our money.

    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Can I ask a question about this?

From what I have seen on the board it seems that people with large orders have them shipped home from AGP. (And how else could you get them out? You can't pull a car up- at least in NY.)

Isn't it more expensive this way? Because now you have to pay shipping AND tax? Especially if you are already combining orders with friends?

I only bought one small thing at AGP. With tax and no 10% off code, it seemed more expensive than just having things sent home to me.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That sounds clever! And now I don't feel my total is too much, lol.

That's sort of what we're doing. My grandparents are just sending my mom the money they'd spend on me, and we're just making one big order here. I also thought that would be easier than explaining the 10% off code, and where to put it in, and all that important money-saving stuff. And then I might be able to con my mom into letting me look at everything when it gets here!

I've decided to just add a few books, and live with that. Does anyone have the Samantha telescript book? AG books are the only thing I'm a completist about, and while I didn't care for the movie, this one is on my list. $10 seems like an awful lot, but is it worth it?

Actually, no, I don't usually . Hmmm.... Well, in 2003, for Christmas, my dad was ordering me the Golden Shimmer Holiday Outfit, and I told him, "Hey, daddy, look! You can order $X worth of more stuff before you go up in shipping!" He ended up ordering Spring Pearl, although he would've had to go up in shipping for that...

I go as close as I possibly can to the top of the shipping level. We hang BB outfits so I usually fill in the order with extra hangers from the historicals. It's code 01-408 and they are 50 cents each.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I *think* you only get charged tax if you're shipping to one of the states that gets charged sales tax on purchases through the catalogue or online. When I order stuff from my PS in Chicago, I don't get charged tax. However, after AGPLA opens, I will, which will make it more expensive than just going to the store, buying it there, and saving on shipping.

Always. But I think that the max shipping for AG is around $20. Good luck on your list.

I'm making my own Christmas/Birthday order, lol, I guess it's easier this way, and then everyone know I'm getting exactly what I want.

But anyway it turns out there's another 31.45 before it goes up to the next shipping cost. I'm wondering if I should get another outfit, and pay my mom back for it, or just forget about it.

So, I'm just wondering how many people here see that and go "oh, I'll just get another outfit then," and how many people couldn't care less?
